What You’ll Need

  1. Large burlap sacks or fabric sacks big enough for an adult’s legs (potato sack style).
  2. Something to simulate a baby bump: small pillows, rolled-up towels, or bean bags that participants tuck under their shirts or belts.
  3. A clear stretch of floor or flat ground for racing office, backyard, living room, anything safe.
  4. Tape or cones to mark start and finish lines.
  5. Optional: a referee (someone to shout “Go!” and watch for cheats), and maybe a silly prize for the winner.

How to Play

  1. Give each racer a sack and a baby bump prop. They should tuck or strap it under their shirt so it looks like they’re carrying a baby.
  2. Line everyone up at the start line, sacks at their legs, bump secured, ready to hop.
  3. On “Go!” they hop in their sacks toward the finish line. No walking, no running hop, hop, hop.
  4. If someone falls over, they pick themselves up and keep going. Bump stays secure, sack stays on no cheating.
  5. First person to cross the finish line with sack on and bump intact wins. Celebrate wildly (because that’s part of it).
